Are you a candidate for SUPARTZ® Joint Fluid Therapy?

Smith & Nephew

You could be if:
  • Your knee pain is due to osteoarthritis
  • You are not getting adequate osteoarthritis knee pain relief from walking and/or physical therapy
  • You are not getting adequate osteoarthritis knee pain relief from pain medications, including:
    • Ibuprofen (eg, Advil®)
    • Acetaminophen (eg, Tylenol®)
    • Naproxen sodium (eg, Aleve®)
    • COX-2s/NSAIDs: (Celebrex®, MOBIC®)

If you meet the three criteria above, ask your doctor if SUPARTZ® Joint Fluid Therapy is right for you!

You should not have SUPARTZ® therapy if:

  • You are allergic to products from birds such as feathers, eggs and poultry
  • You have infections or skin diseases in the area in which the injection will be given
  • You have had any previous allergic reactions to SUPARTZ® therapy or similar material, ie, hyaluronate products

The safety and effectiveness of SUPARTZ® therapy have not been established in pregnant women, lactating women and children.

The following were the most common adverse events occurring in patients treated with SUPARTZ® therapy:

  • Joint pain with no evidence of inflammation
  • Joint pain with evidence of inflammation
  • Back pain, pain (nonspecific)
  • Injection site reaction
  • Headache
  • Injection site pain

These adverse events also occurred at similar rates in patients treated with a saltwater placebo.
