Cory Foulk

Cory Foulk

Smith & Nephew

Cory Foulk is an endurance triathlete who competes in races where the bike portion is always more than 100 miles and the run portion is at least the length of a marathon. By mid-2005 his hip pain was so severe that he was going to say goodbye to his 30-year competitive lifestyle. Then he got relief with the BHR◊ Hip.

“Towards the middle of 2005, it was the endgame for me. It was awful. That year I decided to say goodbye to triathlon, which I had been competing at marathon distance or greater for almost 30 years at that point. For me that was a significant change of lifestyle.

“I knew that if I had a BHR◊ done and it didn’t work, then I could have a total hip replacement. I had a fallback position. It was almost because I wasn’t willing to commit. I have other options in the future. It was a very conservative approach to that problem.”
