While most of these fractures heal in a normal timeframe, an estimated 5%–10% will go on to become a “non-union.”1 A “non-union” is how orthopaedists and podiatrists refer to a fracture that has shown no signs of healing.
This site is designed to provide you with information about fractures, the healing process and some of the factors that can delay healing. It also provides information about a non-surgical, ultrasound treatment that is proven to accelerate healing in specific types of fresh (recent) fractures and to heal non-unions.
