Description

PROGUIDE◊ WCL is a unique 4" x 4" dressing based on Trilaminate Hydrocellular Foam Technology.  The dressing is a centrally-located absorbent hydrocellular pad sandwiched between two perforated wound contact layers.

Features

  • Unique trilaminate structure
  • Non-adherent wound contact layer
  • Highly-absorbent central hydrocellular layer
  • Non-adhesive

  • Benefits

    Highly Absorbent
PROGUIDE◊  WCL is highly absorbent and can effectively manage exudate under compression for up to 7 days.

This capacity results from a combination of properties:

    • The perforated wound contact layer allows even viscous exudate to pass into the dressing.
    • The hydrocellular core of the dressing absorbs and retains liquid in its microscopic structure, preventing leakage and reducing the risk of maceration of the surrounding skin.
    • Even under compression, the dressing is able to absorb and retain exudate.
The result is the creation of a wound environment which allows healing to progress.

    Non-Adherent
PROGUIDE◊ WCL has a perforated polyurethane wound contact layer which limits the adherence of the dressing to the wound.

    Non-Adhesive
PROGUIDE◊ WCL is non-adhesive and therefore recommended for wounds surrounded by sensitive skin, such as venous leg ulcers.

    Easy to Use
As PROGUIDE◊ WCL dressings have perforated film on both sides, either side can be placed against the wound site, making application easy.

    Cushioning and Conformable
The PROGUIDE◊ WCL is soft, cushioning and conformable, providing comfort for the patient while helping to maintain a moist environment at the wound site.

    Cost-Effective
PROGUIDEW◊ CL can be left in place for up to 7 days, making it a cost-effective way to manage venous leg ulcers.

    Indications

PROGUIDE◊ WCL is indicated for exudate absorption and the management of partial to full-thickness wounds.

PROGUIDE◊ WCL aids in the creation and maintenance of a moist wound environment.  Moist wound environments have been established as optimal environments for the management of the wound.

PROGUIDE◊ WCL provides physical separation between the wound and external environments to assist in preventing bacterial contamination of the wound.

    Precautions

    • Do not use PROGUIDE◊ WCL with oxidizing agents such as Hypochlorite solutions (e.g. Eusol, Dakins) or hydrogen peroxide, as these can break down the absorbent hydrocellular component of the dressing.
    • If reddening or sensitization occur, discontinue use and consult a healthcare professional.
