Oxidized Zirconium
Fatigue Strength
Fatigue Strength6
ASTM standards require implants to withstand loads that would normally be characterized as extreme. This test simulated worst-case physiological conditions.
The OXINIUM components were found to support a minimum fatigue load of 1,000 lbs. for 10 million cycles, which is equivalent to a cobalt chrome femoral component of the same design.
