Disposable Platelet Concentrator Kits include all components needed to collect and process the blood, and then transfer the PRC to the sterile field.

Product Function

The CAPTION^◊ Disposable Platelet Concentrator is a single-use, disposable system for the preparation of autologous platelet rich concentrate. The CAPTION^◊ Disposable Platelet Concentrator includes blood draw components, blood processing components, and components that can be used to transfer the PRC to the sterile field.

The blood processing components are used to process the whole blood collected from the patient into platelet rich concentrate and to transfer the PRC and other fluids into the sterile field.

The CAPTION^◊ Disposable Platelet Concentrator is a plastic unit with two ports designed to receive blood and other solutions. The unit is provided sterile, but is intended for use outside of the sterile field. The unit contains a proprietary filter designed to concentrate platelets from whole blood. The platelets are captured on the filter and are then harvested to provide a platelet rich concentrate.

The platelet rich concentrate can then be mixed with autograft or allograft bone prior to application to an orthopedic surgical site as deemed necessary by the clinical use requirements.

Optional accessory kits called the CAPTION^◊ Graft Delivery System, CAPTION^◊ Dual Lumen Kit, and CAPTION^◊ Spray Kit are available separately. All three accessory kits are provided sterile for use inside the sterile field.

The CAPTION^◊ Graft Delivery System is used to conveniently pre-mix desired fluid components and bone graft materials, with delivery of the resultant mixture to an orthopedic surgical site. The system contains several components including a graft chamber, a mixing manifold, accessory syringes, and handling tongs.

The CAPTION^◊ Spray Kit is designed to simultaneously spray two fluids in a 10:1 ratio.

The CAPTION^◊ Dual Lumen Kit is designed to simultaneously apply two fluids in a 10:1 ratio.
