The following treatments are designed to act as general guidelines and should only be done under the direct supervision of an appropriate healthcare professional

For Burns

  1. Cleanse the wound using sterile saline or other appropriate wound cleanser.
  2. CONFORMANT◊ 2 may be coated with topical ointment, cut to size and then wrapped around a burn before applying the secondary dressing.  CONFORMANT◊ 2 is non-absorbent and the ointment will stay on the burn site longer.
  3. If repeat cleansing is necessary, this may be done through the CONFORMANT◊ 2 dressing.

For Shallow Chronic Wounds (Stage II Ulcers)

  1. Cleanse the wound using sterile saline or other appropriate wound cleanser.
  2. Apply CONFORMANT◊ 2 directly to the wound site so that the edges extend beyond the wound edge.
  3. Apply the secondary dressing.
  4. If repeat cleansing is necessary, this may be done through the CONFORMANT◊ 2 dressing.

For Deep Cavity Wounds (Stage III or IV)

  1. Cleanse the wound using sterile saline or other appropriate wound cleanser.
  2. Apply CONFORMANT◊ 2 directly to the wound site so that the edges extend beyond the wound edge.
  3. Pack the dressing with powder, paste, granules or other appropriate packing material before applying.
  4. If repeat cleansing is necessary, this may be done through the CONFORMANT◊ 2 dressing.
