Since the beginning of 2006 Warwick, England has been the home to the Smith & Nephew Global Metal on Metal (MoM) Technologies team.

Smith &Nephew is the only orthopaedic company to have a separate business unit for its MoM Business and it is accredited for its design, development & manufacture of orthopaedic products. The MOM group is responsible for all global marketing of the BHR & MoM group products. BHR_TrainingandEducation1

The MoM group is proud to have an industry leading manufacturing site where cutting edge machinery is used to manufacture the BHR and other MoM products.

The MoM manufacturing site also houses a multi million pound laboratory; industries largest MoM research & testing facility. It is used to assess new bearing couplings as well as examining our own BHR retrievals, competitor & historical bearings.

Also based in Warwick is the MoM Centre of Excellence. The MoM Centre of Excellence is a cutting edge educational centre which offers top of the range training, conference, demonstration & presentation facilities. BHR_TrainingandEducation2

The MOM Centre of Excellence hosts unique, stimulating and informative educational courses to both internal and external colleagues on the BHR and other MOM bearing products.

It is home to the world renowned 'Visiting Surgeons Program' (VSP) where new and existing surgeons are offered the opportunity to visit the educational centre and speak first hand to global experts on MoM technologies as well as the design surgeons and KOL.

The MoM centre of Excellence also hosts Medical Educational Programs where medical colleagues are invited across a multi disciplinary team to join us as well as internal training for S&N employees.

All courses are evidence based where the most recent and relevant published results is critiqued. A wide variety of educational techniques are used in order to ensure that the audience are fully engaged and immersed in a unique learning experience.
