Böttcher K. Experiences with the use of a Hydroactive Wound Dressing on Ulcers of Different Origin. Klinik Magazin 1991; Nr 2/3.
Objectives
To treat various ulcers and sloughy wounds with CUTINOVA◊ Hydro and examine the results.
Materials and Methods
Dressings were changed daily.
Number and Type of Patients
Leg ulcers, pressure ulcers (sacrum and lateral malleolus), poorly healing wound cavities after pilonidal sinus surgery, infected haematoma, sloughy wounds and a small ulcer on the foot (third degree burn).
Protocol and Duration of Study
Not available from paper.
Results
Use of CUTINOVA◊ Hydro led to much faster wound cleansing than conventional dressing materials. Use of CUTINOVA◊ Hydro also brought about the formation of strong granulation tissue with good blood circulation. It was easy to use, and did not adhere to the wound and so was painless for the patient.
Conclusion
CUTINOVA◊ Hydro represents progress in the treatment of problem wounds covered with necrotic, sloughy material.
