Strengthening Integrity and Trust

The AdvaMed Code of Ethics, the Eucomed Code of Business Practice and the Smith & Nephew Global Compliance Programme acknowledge the reality that the development of innovative medical devices, and the enhancement of current products, relies upon collaboration between medical device manufacturers and Healthcare Professionals (HCPs). These innovations and enhancements, such as the ENDOBUTTON◊ Fixation Device and FAST-FIX◊ Meniscal Repair System, contribute to improved medical care and improved patient outcomes.

The Smith & Nephew Global Compliance Programme, which provides our employees with base line standards for legal compliance and ethical behavior when interacting with HCPs, has been established to reinforce our reputation for integrity and ethical conduct. It is a summary of our business principles and supports our commitment to ensuring that our interactions do not influence the obligation of HCPs to make independent decisions regarding appropriate treatment for their patients.

We understand that HCPs would prefer to be associated with a company that puts a premium on integrity. This is why I am pleased to share with you a copy of our Quick-Reference Guide titled Strengthening Integrity and Trust.  This Guide provides insight into how we conduct our business and the expectations we have for all employees regarding interactions with HCPs. Strengthening Integrity and Trust – Quick-Reference Guide

AdvaMed Code of Ethics

Eucomed Code of Business Practice

Our industry is facing increased public scrutiny and government enforcement related to real and perceived inappropriate interactions with HCPs. We believe that providing HCPs an ethical environment for collaboration ultimately contributes to public trust in our collaboration.
