We developed a new film that has excellent adhesive keying properties; this has enabled a customer to remove a production step in their process. This has reduced both cost and time in the manufacturing process and the customer has now expanded their range into products that were previously uneconomical. (Product EU28) |

A customer who produces consumer medical dressings set us the challenge to design a film that would allow them to compete with the market leading competitor. We developed a scrim reinforced PU film. The manufacturing process development involved tight price constraints; using the expertise and experience of our manufacturing team and overcame the restrictions on the production line. The project team managed to incorporate the scrim into the product without affecting the process efficiency. The range was subsequently expanded with different colour options to provide a comprehensive range of films. The finished product can be found in a shop near you! (Product RF60) |

Our silver technology is now protecting patients in hospitals against acquired infections when it is used as a silver film to provide the upper surface of an antimicrobial mattress cover. To develop the product we had to work very closely with our customer and their client to understand the mattress manufacturing processes and the unique demands that are put upon our materials. This was a very challenging and highly technical project that required the development of a tailor-made material. We continue to work together to ensure that our product continues to change to meet the requirements of the market. (Product EU20 Silver) |

One of our major customers asked us to make improvements to the adhesive strength for their existing products. We sourced and validated a new adhesive agent that not only maintained the performance of the product in all aspects but also delivered the required improvement they had asked for. This project was fulfilled and delivered to a strict budget and tight timescale. (Product PBA74/A16) |

EU93 film tensile strength of 3000 (gfcm-1). One of our clients asked us to design a puncture-resistant film to form the bladder part of a pressure relief cushion. We met the brief and created this strong, elastic film with all the product qualities required. |

At SNEF we pride ourselves on our flexibility as a company to be able to meet our client’s brief. This flexibility is also evident in the manufacturing process of our products. For example our nets can form the strength of a tough filtration cage through to a soft net which is almost silk-like and is used in lingerie products. We can make infinite adjustments to the choice of resin, additives, settings and run speeds. This gives us total flexibility to produce the required product qualities such as stripping load, water vapour transfer rates, softness, elasticity, durability and more. |
