Birmingham HIP◊ Resurfacing (BHR)

BIRMINGHAM Hip Resurfacing
  • BIRMINGHAM HIP◊ Resurfacing (BHR)

Approved by the FDA for use in the US in the middle of 2006, the BIRMINGHAM HIP◊ Resurfacing System (BHR◊) is the leading hip resurfacing product outside the US

Cory

Cory, an endurance triathlete, competes in races where the bike portion is always more than 100 miles and the run portion is at least the length of a marathon. Although plagued by hip pain from arthritis, Cory continued to race, putting off treatment because he was unsure of what to do. In 2005 he had decided to say goodbye to competition he had enjoyed for 30 years.

Now he has received a BIRMINGHAM HIP◊ Resurfacing system and he’s back on track competing and enjoying life!

Since his operation, he has completed three Ironman distance triathlons, one marathon and one 72 mile ultramarathon!

“BHR◊ is a tremendous device...far beyond what I had expected,’’ delighted Foulk. “I figured I would need to take a year or two off to rehab. I really only missed about a week of activity, and had to moderate things for three weeks to a month. Now, I don't even think about it.”
