Generating annual sales of $2.8 billion - Smith & Nephew helps patients all over the world get back to their normal lives after illness or injury.

The Orthopaedic Reconstruction and Orthopaedic Trauma and Clinical Therapies businesses are headquartered in Memphis, Tennessee, which is also the site of the main manufacturing facility. Orthopaedic reconstruction and trauma products are also manufactured in Tuttlingen, Germany and Warwick, UK. The Endoscopy business is based in the suburbs of Boston, Massachusetts. The Advanced Wound Management business is headquartered in Hull, England.

Smith & Nephew focuses its efforts on major markets that offer significant growth potentialr. These are driven primarily by the dual drivers of favourable demographics, expanding markets through technological advances and increasingly active lifestyles. Every day, the company helps people get back to their normal lives by developing and delivering new and innovative technologies that lead to more effective treatments.

Substantial investment in our products and intensive research and development means that we are always ahead. Figures from last year show that we stand at number one as the leading company in Arthroscopy. We are the second largest organisation in Advanced Wound Management as well as in Trauma and Clinical Therapies. We are also positioned at number six in reconstruction.
