Recertification Program Overview
The reprocessing of Single Use Devices is regulated by the FDA. Smith & Nephew is able to reprocess JET-X◊ External Fixator clamps.
The Smith & Nephew Recertification program allows for three uses of the device. After a new device is used, it can be recertified for an additional use. This process is repeated for a third use.
- Collection containers are available to hold products until there is a sufficient amount to ship to Smith and Nephew for reprocessing.
- When the hospital is ready to reprocess the device, it is sent to our recertification area for reprocessing.
- Once the clamps are recertified for an additional use, the hospital is notified that the purchase order for the components can be processed.
