POWERMAX Shaver Handpiece

As new arthroscopic techniques and technologies continue to develop the need for medical instruments with enhanced power and performance is increased as well.

Smith & Nephew has developed the POWERMAX◊ Shaver Handpiece, a power-enhanced shaver handpiece for use in arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder, knee, hip and small joints.

With the introduction of the POWERMAX◊ Shaver Handpiece surgeons now have the benefit of additional power and torque without any compromise to ergonomics, comfort and weight. The POWERMAX◊ Shaver Handpiece has the power and torque to resect both soft tissue and bone without compromising or overheating.

The handpiece was also developed with improved ergonomic features such as hand controls for easier handling and application. In addition, to reduce surgeon hand fatigue during surgical procedures, the handpiece was designed and manufactured to weigh approximately 50 percent less than traditional shaver models.
