IODOSORB 0.9% Cadexomer Iodine
IODOSORB◊ represents a family of highly effective anti-microbial products with additional absorbent and debriding properties.
IODOSORB◊ contains iodine bound into a starch matrix. The Iodine is released on contact with the moisture in the wound and kills a broad spectrum of bacteria in as little as 30 minutes1. The unique slow release mechanism means the product is effective for up to 3 days2.
The starch is capable of absorbing up to 6 times its own weight thus maintaining a moist wound healing environment.
IODOSORB◊ is available in 3 different presentations.
The Powder comes in both sachet and pot and was the first form of IODOSORB◊ to become available. This is the most absorbent of the three.
The Dressing (also known as Iodoflex) is a highly flexible version, capable of being moulded to any shape of wound.
The Ointment also fits any shape and size of wound, minimising waste and allowing easy application.
IODOSORB◊is known as Cadex in Japan.
IODOSORB◊ and Iodoflex are indicated for chronic exuding wounds such as leg ulcers.
