Hydrocellular Adhesive Sacrum Dressing
ALLEVYN◊ Sacrum is a highly absorbent hydrocellular foam dressing designed for use on moderate to highly exuding wounds. The dressing has an advanced triple-layered construction, which allows facilitation of wound healing through responsive exudate management.
Provides the optimal wound environment for healing
Delivers superior fluid handling1 through increased breathability and rate of absorption. This optimises the wound environment, which leads to:
Bacteriaproof / waterproof
The top film of ALLEVYN◊ Sacrum prevents strikethrough of excess exudate and provides an effective barrier to bacteria and minimises risk of cross-contamination.
Unique anatomical and profiled design for enhanced patient comfort
The anatomical shaped design of ALLEVYN◊ Sacrum is able to conform to the sacral area moulding into the natal cleft, providing secure fixation and minimising the risk of leakage. ALLEVYN◊ Sacrum dressings have a profile cross-section narrowing to micro-thin edges. This ensures the dressing stays in place, reduces chance of dressing disturbance. ALLEVYN◊ Sacrum dressings are soft and cushioning, giving excellent patient comfort and protection and contributing to a pressure reduction protocol.
Clinically proven
Over 17 years of in-vitro and clinical evidence for ALLEVYN◊ demonstrate successful healing of patient’s wounds across a wide range of indications, wound shapes, sizes and levels of exudate.
Wound management by secondary intention on chronic and acute, full thickness or partial thickness or shallow granulating, exuding wounds such as pressure ulcers, leg ulcers, infected wounds, diabetic foot ulcers, malignant wounds, surgical wounds, first and second – degree burns, donor sites, fungating ulcers. Can be used in conjunction with INTRASITE◊ Gel for necrotic or sloughy wounds.
Do not use any ALLEVYN◊ product with oxidising agents such as hypochlorite solutions (e.g. Eusol) or hydrogen peroxide as these can break down the absorbent hydrocellular component of the dressing.
In common with all adhesive products, some cases of irritation and/or maceration of the skin surrounding the wound have been reported.
Infrequently, cases of sensitivity to the dressing have been reported, It should be noted that inappropriate use or too frequent dressing changes, particularly in patients with fragile skin, can result in skin stripping. If reddening or sensitisation occur, discontinue use and consult a healthcare professional.
