Adhesive Hydrocellular Dressing
ALLEVYN◊ Plus Adhesive – Hydrocellular dressing combines a centrally located absorbent hydrocellular pad sandwiched between a perforated adhesive wound contact layer and a waterproof outer film. ALLEVYN◊ Plus Adhesive dressing helps provide a moist wound environment..
ALLEVYN◊ Plus Adhesive provides the advantages of ALLEVYN◊ hydrocellular dressings in a self adhesive format for simple and effective fixation.
Highly Absorbent
ALLEVYN◊ Plus Adhesive has the capacity to absorb and hold high to extra high levels of exudate. It holds up to 50% more exudate than ALLEVYN◊ Adhesive, both with and without compression. ALLEVYN◊ Plus Adhesive can stay in place for up to 7 days, taking into account local clinical protocols.
Convenient Adhesive Presentation
The wound contact layer of ALLEVYN◊ Plus Adhesive is coated with a low allergy adhesive which adheres well to intact skin, will not stick to the wound and has a low risk of skin irritation.
Promotes Early Healing Due to Moist Wound Environment
ALLEVYN◊ Plus Adhesive dressings allows the formation and maintenance of a moist wound healing environment at the wound surface, preventing eschar formation and promoting rapid and trouble-free healing.
Bacteriaproof / Waterproof
The outer polyurethane layer of ALLEVYN◊ Plus Adhesive prevents strike through of excess exudate from the dressing, minimising the chances of cross contamination and wound infection, therefore enhancing patient comfort and reducing healthcare costs. It also allows the amount of fluid in the dressing to be monitored, as progression of exudate can be seen through the pink top film.
Easy to Use
ALLEVYN◊ Plus Adhesive dressings absorb exudate and cellular debris, ensuring minimal mess at dressing changes. Dressing changes are therefore easier for the carer and less traumatic for the patient.
ALLEVYN◊ Plus Adhesive dressings have been designed for wound management by secondary intention on chronic, acute, full or partial thickness or shallow granulating, exuding wounds such as:
Do not use ALLEVYN◊ Plus Adhesive dressings with oxidising agents such as hypochlorite solutions (eg. EUSOL) or hydrogen peroxide as these can break down the absorbent hydrocellular component of the dressing.
In common with all adhesive products, some cases of irritation and/or maceration of the skin may occur. It should be noted that inappropriate use or too frequent dressing changes, particularly in patients with fragile skin, can result in skin stripping. If redness or sensitisation occur, discontinue use.
