Non-Adhesive Hydrocellular Dressing
ALLEVYN◊ Lite dressings combines an absorbent hydrocellular pad sandwiched between a perforated a non-adherent wound contact layer, and an outer film which is both bacteriaproof and waterproof.
ALLEVYN◊ Lite dressings employ all the proven benefits of moist wound healing, without any breakdown of the dressing caused by contact with exudate. The result is early, clean and trouble-free healing of those wounds which have traditionally proved difficult to care for.
Absorbent
ALLEVYN◊ Lite dressings have the ability to stay in place for up to five days.
This capacity results from a combination of properties:
Non-adherent
ALLEVYN◊ Lite dressings have a non-adhesive wound contact layer, which results in minimal disturbance of healing tissue upon removal, maximising patient comfort.
ALLEVYN◊ Lite dressings are therefore recommended for wounds surrounded by sensitive skin, such as venous ulcers.
Promotes early healing due to moist wound environment
The outer, pink layer used on ALLEVYN◊ dressings is a breathable film layer. This allows the formation and maintenance of a moist wound healing environment at the wound surface, reducing the risk of eschar formation and promoting rapid and trouble-free healing. The pink film is also waterproof and bacteriaproof.
Easy to use
ALLEVYN◊ Lite dressings are conformable and can be cut to suit various wound shapes and locations.
ALLEVYN◊ Lite dressings absorb exudate and cellular debris, ensuring minimal mess at dressing changes. Dressing changes are therefore easier for the carer and less traumatic for the patient; wound irrigation can be kept to a minimum. The progression of exudate through the dressing is visible through the pink top film.
Soft and cushioning
ALLEVYN◊ Lite dressings are soft and cushioning, giving excellent patient comfort. Maintains absorption under compression. Even under compression, the hydrophilic core of ALLEVYN◊ Lite controls absorption.
ALLEVYN◊ Lite are indicated for the management of light to moderately exuding wounds, healing by secondary intent.
Do not use ALLEVYN◊ Lite dressings with oxidising agents such as hypochlorite solution (eg. EUSOL) or hydrogen peroxide, as these can break down the absorbent hydrocellular component of the dressing. If reddening or sensitisation of the skin occurs, discontinue use.
