    As you might imagine, we receive many suggestions from the public regarding new product ideas or improvements to our existing products. Since our engineers are constantly exploring ways to expand and improve our product offering, there is a very good chance that we have already considered, or are currently considering, the exact same concepts as those submitted by the public, including your idea. Therefore:
     
    If you would like for Smith & Nephew to consider your idea, it is imperative that you send to us only non-confidential information at this time. This will allow us to perform an initial review and assessment of your idea to see if it: (a) fits within our development plans for any current or new products; and (b) represents a concept we have not previously considered. If the answer to these questions is "yes", we may request that you provide additional information pursuant to a suitable nondisclosure agreement designed to protect both our interests.
